Banks, real estate stocks drag DFM down at open

Dubai – Mubasher: The main index of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) declined at Sunday’s open by 0.41% or 14.27 points to the level of 3,406.04 points.

By 11:20 am UAE time, trading volume reached 38.5 million shares exchanged through 772 transactions, at a turnover of AED 44.3 million.

The transportation sector dropped 0.8% as Air Arabia fell 0.9%, while the banks sector shrank 0.49% due to a 0.7% decrease in Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB).

The real estate sector retreated 0.47% as Emaar declined 0.8%.
