Banks, real estate weigh on DFM early Thursday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) opened Thursday, the last trading session of the week, in the red, pressured by banking and real estate stocks.

By 10:50 am UAE time, the DFMGI fell 0.53% or 18.85 points to 3,521.75 points. Turnover reached AED 51.57 million after 43.46 million shares were traded through 607 transactions.

The industry sector led losers, shedding 2.82% after National Cement saw a similar decline, while the real estate sector levelled down 0.67%, pressured by Emaar’s 0.68% drop.

The investment sector decreased 0.63% as DFM Company tumbled 0.8%, while the banks sector levelled down 0.3% as Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) retreated 0.34%.
