Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Sunday, the first trading session of the week, in the red, weighed by the banks and telecommunications sectors.
The general index shed 0.16% or 7.89 points to close the session at 4,823.34 points. Turnover amounted to AED 40.79 million after 23 million shares changed hands through 659 transactions.
The banks sector declined 0.49% after Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) lost 1.52%, while First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) shed 0.57% and 0.24%, respectively.
The telecom sector and its only stock Etisalat fell 0.35% each.
On the other hand, the consumer staples sector jumped 6.89% after Agthia’s stock surged 11.54% on Sunday, while the energy sector added 3.18% backed by TAQA and Dana Gas, whose stocks leapt 11.11% and 2.77% respectively.
The real estate sector was also up 0.23% after Eshraq Properties increased 3.29%.
