Banks boost ADX in Sunday’s early trades

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) commenced Sunday, and the week, on a positive note, backed by the banks sector.

By 11:10 am UAE time, the general index grew 0.33% or 13.98 points, reaching 4,532.12 points, shrugging off analysts expectations.

The banks sector gained 0.99% after Commercial Bank International (CBI) surged 12.8%, while the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), the Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), and Union National Bank (UNB) increased 1.41%, 1.01% and 0.21%, respectively.

In the meantime, turnover reached AED 18.04 million after 14.9 million shares changed hands through 190 transactions.

Earlier on Sunday, analysts told Mubasher that they expected the two UAE bourses to see strong anticipation as companies continue to post their financial results and advised traders to trade cautiously.
