Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s (QSE) general index opened the last session of the week in the red, pressured by banks.
The index shed 0.39% or 42.53 points to 11,142.84 points by 10:00am Doha time, after 1.1 million shares were exchanged through 739 transactions and at a turnover of QAR 34 million.
Banking sector stocks led by Al Khalij Commercial Bank, which topped losers, sliding 1.7%, pressured the index.
The Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ), Masraf Al Rayan and Qatar National Bank (QNB) fell 1.4%, 1.3% and 0.5%, respectively.
All of QSE’s sectors were in the red, with the telecom sector shedding 0.62%, followed by insurance and banks with 0.60% and 0.54%
