Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Sunday’s trading session on a positive note, encouraged by the growth of the banking sector.
The general index rose 22.2 points, or 0.24%, to finish the first session of this week at 9,340.69 points.
The bourse’s liquidity decreased 32.3% to QAR 110.05 million on Sunday from QAR 162.64 million on Thursday, while the trading volume levelled down 37.4% to 4.85 million shares against 7.75 million in the previous session.
The banking sector was the QSE’s only gainer with a rise of 0.6%.
Meanwhile, the telecommunication sector topped the bourse’s six decliners losing 0.54%.
By the end of the session, Qatar Gas Transport’s (Nakilat) stock, which went down 0.5%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 952,440 shares, generating QAR 15.28 million in liquidity.
