Banks sector drag ADX down at close

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The main index of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Thursday’s session with a fall of 0.97% or 44.67 points to the level of 4,543.53 points.

Trading volume reached 169.24 million shares exchanged at AED 265.428 million, versus 81.67 million shares exchanged yesterday at AED 165.47 million.

The banks sector declined 2.10% as Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, National Bank of Abu Dhabi and First Gulf Bank dropped by 7.69%, 6.68%, 1.33% and 1.15% respectively.

On the other hand, the real estate sector grew 1.33% through the rise in Eshraq Real Estate by 3.61%, making the highest turnover with AED 88.76 million and a trading volume of 104 million shares. Aldar Properties also advanced 1.12%.
