Banks sector drags Bahrain Bourse down to red

The main index of Bahrain’s stock exchange lost 0.05% or 0.65 points to close at 1,200.91 points on Thursday. Bahrain Islamic index grew 0.33% to reach 789.16 points.

Liquidity declined to about BHD 192,170 as trading volume decreased to nearly 478,270. Moreover, the market cap stood at BHD 7.12 billion ($18.58 billion).

Commercial banks sector was down 0.83%, dragged by NBB and AUB which fell by 2.16% and 0.75% respectively.

The hotels sector leveled up 2.7% as Gulf Hotels rose by 4%. The services sector grew by 1.23% as Batelco increased by 2.6%.

Bahrain Duty Free Shop Complex recorded the highest trades of $52,410 after nearly 58,230 shares were traded. The stock closed at BHD 0.9.
