Banks sector pressures ADX down Thursday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) witnessed losses on Thursday for the second session in row, weighed down by the fall of banks stocks

The main index fell 0.09% or 3.98 points to reach 4,389.60 points.

Turnover stood at AED 12.68 million on Thursday, compared to AED 144.30 million. Trading volume reached 54.7 million shares, compared to 70.6 million shares.

The banks sector led losers after falling 0.48% as National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) levelled down 2.25%, 0.44% and 0.16% respectively.

On the flipside, the real estate sector rose 1.71% as Aldar Properties went up 1.95%.

The energy sector advanced 0.38% after TAQA grew 1.85%.

Invest Bank was the value leader after generating AED 25.28 million.
