Cairo – Mubasher: Banks operating in Egypt have injected EGP 140 billion to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by the end of March, the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) deputy governor, Lobna Helal, said on Thursday.
Financing SMEs significantly contributes to supporting the Egyptian economy, Helal added on the sidelines of a conference held by Attijariwafa Bank for inaugurating an entrepreneurship branch.
A total of 30 entrepreneurship branches will be inaugurated this year, she added, highlighting the CBE’s efforts in encouraging digital transformation in the banking sector.
