Banning low-quality products saves SAR 40bn - SASO

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) revealed that it was working on protecting domestic products through applying specifications, standards, and quality regulations.

The organisation is planning to ban the importing of low-quality products, Saad bin Othman AlKasabi, governor of SASO, said.

The decision will result in saving around SAR 40 billion ($10.6 billion) annually, he added.
