Cairo – Mubasher: Banque Du Caire is considering setting up new branches in a number of the African countries, the bank’s chairman said.
Egypt’s third largest state-run lender has recently restructured its branch in Uganda to activate its role in providing further financing programme to fund exports and investments for Egyptians in the Ugandan market and the surrounding countries, Tarek Fayed said in a statement to the trade and industry ministry.
The bank aims to provide small-sized and microfinance projects with financial mechanisms as they account for 60% of the bank’s portfolio, mainly projects in Upper Egypt and the remote areas, Fayed stressed.
This came on the sidelines of a meeting between Egyptian trade minister Amr Nassar and Fayed at the Africa 2018 Forum being held in Sharm El Sheikh.
