Cairo – Mubasher: Banque Misr and the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) sold about EGP 100 billion of the new 15% annual yield savings certificates at the end of last week, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Sunday.
The value of 15% savings certificates sold by Banque Misr reached EGP 30.6 billion, the bank’s chairman Mohamed El-Etreby said.
In addition, NBE sold EGP 66 billion of these certificates from the date of the launch till last Thursday, the lender’s vice chairman Yehia Aboul Fotouh noted.
Accrued interest will be paid to holders of these certificates on a monthly basis.
These certificates are available through mobile and internet banking as well as ATMs, e-mail, and contact centres.
