Cairo – Mubasher: Banque du Caire has pumped EGP 17 billion into small businesses, providing around 700,000 job opportunities since 2002, said the bank’s chairman Tarek Fayed.
Female entrepreneurs account for 35% of the portfolio, with 55% of the clients being from Upper Egypt.
The bank aims at making the best use of its 200,000 clients within the EGP 4 billion portfolio to provide electronic services inline the targets set by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), adding that the bank also is seeking to acquire the needed approval to use QR codes.
Banque de Cairo will also launch mobile banking services in first quarter of 2019, Fayed indicated.
