Cairo – Mubasher: Barclays Bank Egypt reported an increase of 32.7%in its net profit for the first six months of 2016, according to a press release.
The bank earned EGP 373 million ($42 million), compared with EGP 281 million ($31.5 million) for the year-ago period.
The bank secured loans at EGP 7.8 billion, higher 13% compared with the rate registered by the end of December 2015.
Deposits rose 9% to EGP 16.9 billion in the first half, compared with EGP 15.4 billion for period ended 31 December 2015.
The bank's assets increased 5% to EGP 21.2 billion for the period ended 30 June 2016.
