Mubasher: Bahrain Telecommunications Company’s (Batelco) ordinary general meeting (OGM) approved on Monday the board of director’s proposal to distribute cash dividends at 25%, equivalent to 25 fils per share, for the fiscal year 2015, totalling BHD 41.58 million ($110.29 million),
The company paid 10 fils per share for the third quarter of 2015, and the remaining 15% will be paid in the upcoming weeks, according to a bourse filing.
Earlier on 8 March 2015, the OGM approved the same cash dividends for the fiscal year 2014.
The company’s Chairman, Hamad Al Khalifa, said that Batelco maintained its growth rates and made a net profit of BHD 49.5 million ($131.3 million) in 2015, with a subscriber base of 9 million in 14 countries.
Batelco’s net profit reached BHD10.135 million ($26.87 million) in the fourth quarter of 2015, against BHD10.517 million ($27.89 million) in the same period of 2014.
