Dubai – Mubasher: Belgium’s BESIX Group has announced that it was appointed as Dubai AED 394 million ($107.3 million) Shindagha Bridge project’s infrastructure contractor.
The bridge, which is part of the AED 5.1 billion ($1.37 billion) Shindagha Corridor project, comprises an architectural arch that has been designed based on the mathematical symbol for infinity, according to a company statement.
“It is truly an honour for us to be a part of the Shindagha Corridor Project, as Shindagha is one of the oldest areas of Dubai,” managing director of Six Construct Pierre Sironval commented.
Around 2,400 tonnes of steel is expected to be used in the new bridge’s total construction plan.
“The Shindagha Bridge will be the third major bridge crossing over the creek that we have successfully built in the UAE, and we are very proud as a company to be a part of shaping the history of Dubai and the UAE,” Sironval said.
