Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has revealed plans to establish the first nuclear research reactor in the GCC country during his visit to the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST).
On Monday, 5 November, bin Salman opened and laid the foundation stone for seven projects, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Bin Salman inaugurated the Central Laboratory for Human Genome that will documents a map for genetics of the Saudis in order to discover mutations that may cause hereditary diseases.
The crown prince also laid the foundation stone for a centre focusing on developing aircraft fuselage, in addition to a solar energy-powered desalination plant on the Saudi-Kuwait borders.
The oil-rich Kingdom will also build a laboratory to check the credibility of solar panels will also be built in Uyaynah.
The investment cost of the projects and their timeframe were not revealed.
