UAE – Mubasher: Bloomberg Capital Markets Forum in Abu Dhabi has started on Wednesday, 2 October 2019, with Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg L.P. and Bloomberg Philanthropies, delivering the opening keynote address, Bloomberg said in a press release.
The UAE has the ability to change the global economy and is capable of making a big difference in mitigating climate change as a key player in the world’s energy economy, Michael Bloomberg highlighted.
Michael Bloomberg also praised the UAE government, particularly Minister of Climate Change and Environment Thani Ahmed Alzeyoudi, for bringing together experts and major figures to find valid solutions that help fight against climate change.
Abu Dhabi has to continue diversifying its economy to maintain its position as the 21st-century financial centre by investing in the industries of the future such as clean energy, which is cheaper than fossil fuels and already offers numerous new jobs, he pointed out.
“I believe there is a lot to be optimistic about here. Bloomberg is ready to be your partner as you begin the next phase of your growth and we are looking forward to helping you build a bigger, better, and more sustainable future for Abu Dhabi, the UAE, and the world,” Michael Bloomberg said.
For almost two decades, Bloomberg has been present in the UAE, extending its footprint along with Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s growth as global financial centres.
The UAE has become one of Bloomberg’s largest emerging markets as the company now has more staff and clients in the GCC country than ever before.
On 29 September, Bloomberg announced that it would host its Capital Markets Forum in Abu Dhabi for the first time on 2 October 2019.
