Blue-chip stocks weigh on ADX Sunday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Sunday’s trading session in red territory, pushed down by the declining blue-chip stocks.

The ADX’s general index went down 44.40 points, or 0.86%, at 5,121.17 points.

Trading volume amounted to 46.165 million shares that were exchanged through 747 transactions at a turnover of AED 84.585 billion.

Market capitalisation shed AED 3.854 billion, closing the session at AED 524.624 billion.

The banks, telecommunication, energy, and real estate sectors fell by 1.11%, 0.59%, 0.46%, and 0.10%, respectively.

Manazel Real Estate was the most active stock by volume with a trading volume of 18.973 million shares, while First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) was the most active stock by value with a turnover of AED 17.197 million.

Most of the blue-chip stocks have seen a bearish trend including Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ABCB), Dana Gas, and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) that fell by 1.04% to AED 8.66, 1.02% to AED 0.97, and 0.40% to AED 5.03, respectively.
