Blue-chip stocks weigh on ADX in Q2

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) has seen a bearish trend during the second quarter of 2019.

The ADX’s general index fell by 94.7 points, or 1.9%, to 4,979.95 points in the three-month period ended 30 June.

The bourse’s market capitalisation closed the quarter at AED 509.28 billion.

The banks sector fell in Q2-19 by 2.9%, dragged down by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB).

The telecommunication sector dipped 0.12% as Etisalat went down with the same percentage.

On the other hand, the real estate sector and the energy sectors jumped 6.2% and 3.5%, respectively.

The ADX’s market capitalization gained AED 1.251 billion in the first six months of 2019.
