Blue chips boost ADX Thursday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index gained 0.31% or 13.36 points to 4,287.07 points on Thursday.

The real estate sector went up 0.45% after Manazel Real Estate surged 5.88%, while Aldar Properties added 0.9%.

The banking sector rose 0.39%, pushed up by some stocks topped by United Arab Bank (UAB), which grew 1.52%.

Meanwhile, Bank of Sharjah, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), Sharjah Islamic Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) levelled up 0.82%, 0.81%, 0.75%, 0.5% and 0.42%, respectively.

The telecommunication sector and its only stock Etisalat added 0.31%.

The ADX’s trading volume nearly doubled to 161.3 million shares versus 83.6 million shares on Wednesday, while the market’s turnover increased to AED 149.2 million through 787 transactions, compared to AED 136.3 million in the previous session.

Manazel Real Estate topped the ADX in terms of both volume and value with 109.6 million traded shares and a turnover of AED 58.9 million through 172 transactions.
