Blue chips boost ADX on Sunday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Sunday’s trading session in green territory on the back of the rising blue-chip stocks.

The ADX’s general index inched up 3.83 points, or 0.08%, to finish the first session of the week at 5,003.28 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 27.40 million shares exchanged at a turnover of AED 50.21 million.

The bourse’s market capitalisation closed today’s session at AED 513.88 billion, gaining AED 780 million.

The energy sector added 0.97%, backed by Dana Gas and ADNOC Distribution that rose 0.42% and 2.27%, respectively.

The real estate sector increased by 1.96% as Aldar Properties jumped 2.06%, while the banks sector remained stable.

On the other hand, the telecommunication sector tumbled 0.24% when its sole stock Etisalat fell by the same percentage.

Aldar Properties was the most heavily traded stock with a trading volume of nearly 8.59 million shares exchanged through a turnover of AED 17 million.
