Blue chips boost DFM Wednesday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market’s (DFM) general index added 21.53 points, or 0.78%, to close at 2,775.57 points on Wednesday, pushed up by selective purchases of blue chips.

The banks sector gained 1.43% after the Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) soared 5.76% to AED 4.04 and Emirates NBD grew 1.71% to AED 8.95.

The real estate sector went up 0.47%, as Damac Properties, Emaar Malls, and Emaar Properties increased by 1.6%, 1.12%, and 0.83%, respectively.

The transportation sector levelled up 0.28% after Aramex gained 2.24% to AED 4.11.

On the other hand, the insurance sector shed 1.04%, as Salama declined 1.91% to AED 0.615.

The DFM’s trading volume reached 169.68 million shares, while the market’s liquidity amounted to AED 185.97 million.
