Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Monday’s trading in the green, encouraged by the growth of the insurance and banking sectors.
By 09:55 am Qatar time, the general index inched up 0.39% to 8,837 points, adding 34.23 points.
Turnover amounted to QAR 40.39 million after 1.22 million shares traded through 538 transactions.
The insurance sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 5.66% as Qatar Insurance and Al Khaleej Takaful jumped 8.95% and 1.70%, respectively.
Similarly, the banking sector levelled up 0.98% on the back of Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) 1.40% growth.
The industrial sector went up 0.46% as Mesaieed Petroleum Holding increased 2.58%.
Qatar Insurance’s stock led the bourse in terms of trading volume with 647,020 share, generating QAR 24.09 million.
