Blue chips drag ADX down Sunday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index slipped 0.11% or 4.8 points to 4,282.27 points on Sunday, weighed down by blue chips, headed by the stocks of Dana Gas and Aldar Properties.

The energy sector went down 1.13% after Dana Gas fell 1.4%, before the holding of an anticipated meeting between the company and the $700 million sukukholders.

This decline was resulted by the local and foreign investors focus on the new attractive IPOs, especially ADNOC’s distribution unit, said sales analyst at Mubasher Karim Al Shammas.

The real estate sector tumbled 0.38% after Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties levelled down 1.37% and 0.45%, respectively.

The ADX’s trading volume more than halved to 75.87 million shares from 161.3 million shares on Thursday, while the market’s value decreased to AED 75.13 million, compared to AED 149.2 million in the previous session.
