Blue chips drag ADX down Sunday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Sunday on a low note, weighed by blue chips in the telecom and real estate sectors.

The general index shed 0.51% to 24.09 points to close the session at 4,682.47 points.

Turnover dropped significantly to AED 69 million on Sunday from AED 106.7 million on Thursday, while traded volume decreased to 42.64 million shares traded versus 46.52 million.

The investment sector led fallers, losing 2.05%, while the telecom sector and its stock Etisalat were down 0.86% each. The real estate sector declined 0.64% after Aldar Properties lost 0.95%.

The banks sector fell 0.41% after Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) tumbled 0.43% and 0.40%, respectively.

The energy sector registered the lowest decline on Sunday, slipping 0.06% after Dana Gas lost 2.08%, whereas the services sector led risers, adding 0.29%.
