Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market opened the mid-week trading session on a negative note amid key sectors’ downturn, unlike analysts' outlook.
By 10:20am Dubai time, the main index was 0.56% lower to 3495.56 points.
Trading volume reached 9.7 million shares worth AED 18.25 million through 205 transactions.
The transportation sector saw a slide of 1.01% after Aramex declined 2.4%.
The investment sector fell by 0.9% coupled with a 2.9 slide of DFM stock.
The real estate sector was 0.4% down, weakened by Arabtec Holding that slipped by 2%.
Capital market analyst Hareb Omar expected blue chips to see further accumulation on Tuesday, especially after some positive results were recently announced topped by Emaar Properties which exceeded expectations.
The banking sector dipped 0.35% on Dubai Islamic Bank that was 0.56% lower at open.
