Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange indices were down in Sunday’s early trading, as the main index, or EGX30, fell by 2.5% or 165 points to reach 6,472 points, weighed by leading stocks.
The heaviest weight CIB drifted 4.11% lower, while Global Telecom shed 5%, EFG-Hermes lost 3.3% and OTMT sagged by 5.5%.
The equal-weighted index EGX50 lost 1.82% to 1,108 points, while the small and mid-cap index EGX70 went down by 0.81% to 358 points and the broader index EGX100 pulled back 0.89% to 755 points.
Traded volume reached 43 million shares, exchanged in 1,700 transactions at turnover reaching EGP 39 million.
Nationals were net sellers by EGP 1.9 million, while foreign and Arab traders were net buyers by EGP 457,000 and EGP 1.4 million respectively.
