Blue chips drive QSE into green at open

Doha – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) rose in Wednesday’s early trading by 0.11% or 7.42 points to the level of 11,378.54 points.

Trading volume reached 1.8 million shares exchanged at QAR 98.5 million through 1,082 transactions.

The index was backed by the rise in blue chips as QIIB, Ooredoo, Industries Qatar and Vodafone Qatar leapt by 2%, 1.57%, 1% and 1% respectively.

Qatar Insurance headed the green list with a growth of 3.52%, while Mannai was the worst performing stock after falling by 4.8%.

The insurance and telecom sectors rose by 2.44% and 1.45% respectively, whereas the real estate sector was the worst performer with a 0.7% decrease.
