Blue chips help Bahrain Bourse keep rising

Mubasher: The benchmark index of Bahrain Bourse (BHB) ended Thursday’s trading session in the green zone for the sixth day in a row, backed by the gains of Alba, Zain, and Al Salam Bank stocks.

The index inched up 0.11% or 1.4 points to close at 1,232.76 points; boosting its presence above 1,230 points.

Bahrain Islamic index levelled up 0.68% or 5.48 points to reach 814.58 points.

Today’s turnover stood at about BHD 167,500 as around 772,300 shares were exchanged.

The industrial sector grew 1.04%, backed by Alba which rose 1.08%. followed by the services sector with gains  0.37%, as Nass Corporation and Zain levelled up 4.4% and 2.86%, respectively.

The banks sector inched up 0.03%, enhanced by Al Salam Bank which gained 2.06%.

The hotels and tourism sector retreated 1.25%. BHB’s market cap increased to BHD 7.286 billion from BHD 7.278 billion in the previous session.
