Blue chips push Bahrain’s stock market into red zone

Mubasher: The benchmark index of Bahrain Bourse lost 0.9% or 10.7 points to settle at 1,166.4 points by the week ended 11 February.

Bahrain Islamic index dropped 1.8% or 13.6 points to reach 750.24 points.

Over the week, trading value stood at BHD 1.52 million as compared to BHD 1.3 million a week ago. Trading volume stood at 9.58 million shares, compared to 10.86 million.

The banks sector led the decliners by 1.7% as AUB retreated by 2.9%.

The industrial sector levelled 1.65% down as Alba lost 1.7%.

The investment sector fell by 0.71% as GFH declined 2%. Also, the services sector dipped 0.6% in line with Batelco’s fall of 1.6%.
