Blue chips push down QSE at Thursday's close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Thursday's trading session in decline, pressured by the fall of industry and telecoms sectors.  

The benchmark index fell 5.59 points, or 0.06%, to finish the last session of this week at 9,607.89 points.

Trading volume reached 6.43 million shares on Thursday, down from 7.76 million shares on Wednesday, while traded value decline to QAR 176.414 million, from QAR 246.66 million.

The telecoms sector inched down 0.95% as Ooredoo’s stock shed 1.31%, while Vodafone Qatar’s stock edged down 0.43%.

The industrials sector levelled down 0.39% after Industries Qatar stock decreased by 0.93%.

On the other hand, the real estate sector rose 0.94% as Ezdan Holding Group’s stock added 1.47%, while the banks and financial services sector grew 0.19% after Al Khalij Commercial Bank’s (KCB) stock went up 1.84%.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock led in terms of trading volume after 1.1 million shares were exchanged, while the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock topped in terms of liquidity after generating QAR 32.4 million.
