Blue chips push up QSE at Wednesday’s open

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange resumed trading on Wednesday after being suspended on Tuesday 13 February 2018 on the occasion of the National Sports Day.

The Qatari bourse started Wednesday’s trading session up, encouraged by the growth of six sectors.

By 10:00 am Qatar time, the main index grew 0.84 %, or 75.26 points, to 9,062.77 points.

Turnover amounted to QAR 43.4 million after 2.7 million shares were traded through 718 transactions.

The real estate sector topped the QSE’s six gainers adding 1.32%.

The banking sector levelled up 0.78% after Islamic Holding Group went up 2.37%, while the industrial sector increased 0.67% on the back of Aamal’s 2.44% rise.

Qatar First Bank’s stock, which jumped 1.52%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 1.5 million shares, generating QAR 10.1 million.
