Blue chips send DFM down 12 pts Monday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Monday’ s trading session in the red after its benchmark lost 11.97 points, or 0.44%, to 2,727.41 points, dragged down by selling pressures on blue-chip stocks.

The DFM’s traded volume stood at 95.85 million shares, up from 55.60 million on Sunday, while trading value surged to AED 158.08 million, against AED 67.36 million.

The investment and financial services fell 2.88% as Dubai Investments’ stock decreased by 3.45%, while the insurance sector declined 2.85% after Islamic Arab Insurance Co’s “Salama” stock dipped 5.2%.

The consumer staples sector dropped 1.67% as DXB Entertainments’ stock levelled down 1.88%.

The real estate sector went down 0.44% after the stocks of Arabtec Holding and Emaar Properties tumbled 3.14%, and 1.25%, respectively.
