BoE keeps policy rates unchanged

Mubasher: The Bank of England's (BoE) rate-setters voted 8-1 again to keep interest rates at their record low of 0.5% in line with expectation.

Ian McCafferty remained the lone hawk and preferred to increase Bank Rate by 25 basis points, according to FXStreet website.

The MPC sets monetary policy in order to meet the 2% inflation target and in a way that helps to sustain growth and employment. The Committee also voted unanimously to maintain the stock of purchased assets financed by the issuance of central bank reserves at £375 billion.
