Abu Dhabi — Mubasher: Etihad Airways on Sunday announced that it will introduce the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on its daily scheduled flights from Abu Dhabi to Hong Kong as of 31 March 2019.
The two-class aircraft will replace the Airbus A330-200 aircraft, which is currently operating the route, Abu Dhabi's state-run carrier said in a statement.

The new 787-9 Dreamliner service to Hong Kong will feature the airline’s next-generation Business and Economy cabins, configured with 299 seats, including 28 Business Studios and 271 Economy Smart Seats.
It will boost the capacity with six seats in Business and 31 in Economy in each direction, along with an increase in belly-hold cargo capacity of four tonnes, the airline noted.
In July, Etihad Airways announced it readiness to give up its pursuit to compete with the UAE giant carriers, confined itself to Abu Dhabi.
Following the recording of $3.5 billion loss, the Emirati company will downsize its activities by cutting more jobs and cancelling jet orders, CEO of Etihad Aviation Group Tony Douglas told Bloomberg News.
