Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, and the President of Bombardier Transportation, Danny Di Perna, explored means of cooperation in implementing several projects in Egypt.
Di Perna expressed the company’s interest in several projects, including implementing Cairo Metro Line 6, upgrading Alexandria’s tram line, and developing Abu Qir's train into an electric metro, according to a statement on Thursday.
This came during the minister’s meeting with the Bombardier-Orascom-Arab Contractors consortium which was awarded the contract to build two new monorails in the new administrative capital and 6th of October City.
The civil works of the monorail project have already begun and the first batch of the monorail trains will be shipped in September 2021.
