Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: It is expected that retail sales of bottled water in the UAE will reach AED 2.7 billion by 2021, a new report issued by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has said.
The report forecast that these sales will grow by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.3% year-on-year from 2016 to 2021.
The sales of bottled water in the UAE hit AED 1.7 billion in 2016, the report added.
The Dubai chamber pointed out that distilled and bottled water made up 96% of the sales, followed by flavoured bottled water, which accounted for 3% of sales.
Meanwhile, carbonated water comprised a meagre 1% of water sales, according to the report.
