Kuwait – Mubasher: The price index of the Boursa Kuwait rose in the first Quarter of 2017 by 22.3% or 1281.34 points to the level of 7,029.43 points, compared to 5,748.09 points in Q4-16.
The weighted and Kuwait-15 index also ascended in Q1-17 by 8.7% and 5.5% respectively.
Technical analyst said that the benchmark index is expected to move upward to 7300 and 7500 points by the end of the first half of 2017.
Trading volume reached 22.82 billion shares exchanged through 549.4 million transactions; turnover amounted to KWD 2.7 billion.
The market capitalisation increased in Q1-17 by KWD 2.1 billion to KWD 28.35 billion, versus KWD 26.26 billion in Q4-16.
During March, the price index advanced 3.6%, while the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices declined 2.5% and 3.13% respectively.
