Boursa Kuwait closes Monday in red amid higher liquidity

Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Monday in decline after they remained in the green zone for quite time during the session.

The benchmark price index edged down 0.03% to close at 6,254.67 points, the weighted index lost 0.6%, and the Kuwait-15 index retreated 0.99%.

Speculations are open with caution unless indices break support levels before the end of November, with the price index having until 6,350 points as an open range for speculation unless technical indicator is changed, capital market analyst Ibrahim Al Filkawy told Mubasher.

The benchmark price index remains positive as long as it is above 6,200 points, while the weighted index has to break 400 points to confirm the ascending trend, and the Kuwait-15 index has to break the level of 920 points, capital market analyst Mohamad Al Anzi said.

Listed banks topped decliners with 0.4%, dragged by Al Ithmaar which lost 2.36%.

The industrial sector retreated 0.17%, in line with the 12.1% drop of Kuwait Cement.

Meanwhile, the oil and gas segment topped five gainers with 1.3%, backed by Energy House which rose by 14.5%.

Boursa Kuwait’s liquidity grew by 47.4% to KWD 16.48 million on Monday from KWD 11.18 million in the previous session, after the trading volume increased by 11.7% to 76.64 million shares from 68.63 million.

Kuwait Finance House (KFH) posted the highest turnover of KWD 3.57 million, down 1.08%.

Investors was the most active stock on which 6.77 million shares were traded, falling 1.7%.
