Mubasher: The benchmark price index of Boursa Kuwait closed Sunday’s session 0.28% or 17.3 points higher to 6,256.67 points.
Both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices gained 0.73% and 0.99%, respectively.
The telecom segment topped gainers with 1.3%, backed by Viva and Zain which rose by 3.26% and 0.68%, respectively.
The real estate sector edged up 0.94%, endorsed by the 20% jump of Kuwait Real Estate (Al Aqaria) which was the top winner.
Listed banks went up 0.81% in line with the rise of eight banks, headed by Kuwait Finance House (KFH) which rose by 2.03%.
Meanwhile, the oil and gas as well as the industrial segments were the only decliners with 0.69% and 0.6%, respectively.
Boursa Kuwait’s turnover increased by 26.5% to KWD 11.18 million on Sunday compared to KWD 8.84 million in the previous session, after the trading volume grew by 28.3% to 68.63 million shares from 53.49 million.
KFH posted the highest liquidity of KWD 2.63 million, up 2.03%.
Al Imtiaz was the most active stock on which 11.6 million shares were exchanged, down 3.03%.
