Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Thursday’s session with a mixed performance; the price index edged up 0.32% or 22 points to close at 6,845.01 points.
The weighted index rose by 0.48% to 419.95 points, while the Kuwait-15 index edged down 0.09%.
Boursa Kuwait’s liquidity increased by 68.3% to reach KWD 19.42 million on Thursday compared to KWD 11.54 million in the previous session, after trading volume grew to 71.58 million compared to 67.85 million.
Zain was the most active stock on which 19.92 million shares were traded through 955 transactions at a value of KWD 9.56 million, following Zain’s disclosure of selling treasury shares worth more than KWD 255 million to Omantel.
The telecom segment rose 0.3%, backed by Zain’s performance.
Meanwhile, the oil and gas sector was the only decliner with a fall of 0.4%, dragged by Napesco and Burgan Drilling which retreated by 1.32% and 1.23%, respectively.
