Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait’s indices showed a mixed performance at Thursday’s close, as the price index dropped 0.54% to 6,885.17 points, losing 37.13 points, while the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices rose 0.13% and 0.2%, respectively.

The industrial sector topped the losing sectors with a 2% drop, in line with a decline in major stocks, topped by Human Soft and KGL with 5.7% and 4.84%, respectively.

The banking sector lost 0.84%, influenced by a drop in five major stocks, led by Ithmaar and Kuwait International’s decrease of 5.9% and 1.2%, respectively.

On the other hand, five sectors went up, led by the communication sector, which gained 0.54%, after the rise in three major stocks, topped by Zain with a 1.01% rise.

Shuaiba Industrial’s stock led gainers with a 10.71% rise, while KCIN’s stock led losers with a 19.9% decline.

The drop in the price index was intentionally induced by the market maker, especially the decline in KCIN’s and Human Soft’s stocks, market analyst Mohamed Al Anzi told Mubasher.

Turnover declined 4.4% to KWD 13.35 million on Thursday, compared to KWD 13.97 million the day before.

Trading volume increased 1.4% to 70.26 million shares versus 69.27 million shares on Wednesday.

Zain acquired the highest turnover at KWD 2.93 million, while Al Imtiaz acquired the highest trading volume with 9.94 million shares being traded, with a 1.18% increase.
