Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Tuesday lower for the third consecutive session, in line with the resignation of the Kuwaiti government on Monday.
The benchmark price index went down 0.73% or 47.7 points to close at 6,513.83 points, the weighted index lost 0.88%, and the Kuwait-15 index retreated 1.25%.
The oil and gas segment led ten decliners with 3.02%, dragged by Independent Petroleum Group (IPG) which lost 9.9%.
Meanwhile, the consumer services sector was the only gainer with 0.65%, backed by the rise of Alrai media which went up 6.2%.
Boursa Kuwait’s liquidity increased by 29.2% to KWD 21.37 million on Tuesday compared to KWD 16.54 million on Monday, after the trading volume decreased by 8.2% to 89.89 million shares from 97.93 million.
Zain recorded the highest turnover of KWD 5.95 million, falling by 4.12% to close at 466 fils.
Ahli United Bank (AUB) was the most active stock on which 13.62 million shares were traded, closing at 208 fils.
