Boursa Kuwait closes Wednesday down on profit taking

Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Wednesday’s trading session with a decline, as the All-Share, Premier, and Main markets retreated 0.43%, 0.22%, and 0.87%, respectively.

The healthcare segment led nine decliners with 6.6%, while the industrial and oil sectors were the only gainers with 0.05% and 1.2%, respectively.

Rapid profit-taking activity controlled Boursa Kuwait following two sessions in red, capital market analyst Saad Al Rumi told Mubasher.

The stock exchange is still in need for more income disclosures that are positive to revive trading activity, the analyst added.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover increased by 24.7% to KWD 33.3 million on Wednesday compared to KWD 26.71 million in the prior session after the trading volume grew by 14.8% to 183.79 million shares from 160.04 million.

The Gulf Bank of Kuwait (GBK) was the most active stock on which 34.8 million shares were traded at a value of KWD 9.5 million, the stock closed the session at 270 fils.
