Boursa Kuwait closes Wednesday on mixed note

Kuwait – Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait closed Wednesday’s trading session on a mixed note.

The main index of Boursa Kuwait edged up 0.35% or 23.04 points to the level of 6,621.4 points.

On the other hand, the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices slipped 0.2% and 0.19%, respectively.

The industrial sector led top gainers with 2%, bolstered by Nafais Holding, which surged 17.65%.

The oil and gas segment rose 1.5% on the back of Senergy which levelled up 9.5%.

Likewise, the banks sector inched up 0.15%, backed by Kuwait Finance House (KFH) and National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), which added 0.17% and 0.13%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the consumer goods sector led five decliners with 3.5%, pressured by Kuwait Food (Americana) and Danah Al Safat Foodstuff, which fell 10.26% and 1.3%, respectively.

Moreover, the financial services sector shed 0.4%, as Credit Rating and Collection (Tahssilat) dropped 16.4%.

Trading volume increased 25.3% to 64.67 million shares from 51.6 million shares on Tuesday.

The market’s liquidity rose 28.4% to KWD 12.6 million from KWD 9.81 million in the previous session.

Mobile Telecommunications (ZAIN) was the most active stock on which 10.47 million shares were exchanged at a turnover of KWD 5.34 million, rising 2.04% at 513 fils.
