Boursa Kuwait ends Monday in red

Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Monday's session with a massive decline, after registering the first green close on Sunday, 8 April, since the segmentation of the market earlier this month.

The All-Share Market Index declined 0.81% or 39.2 points to finish at 4,812.43 points, while Main Index levelled down 0.38% or 18.4 points to end at 4,862.57 points, and the Premier Market Index decreased 1.06% or 18.4 points to close at 4,783.35 points.

Monday’s session saw an improvement in the market’s trades, particularly the trading volume, coinciding with a fresh liquidity on the small stocks, capital market analyst Baddar Al Badr told Mubasher.

The market’s liquidity was evenly distributed on the Premier Market’s and the Main Index's stocks , while the Main Index’s listed stocks were the most active during the second session of this week, Al Badr added.

The telecommunication sector topped the bourse’s decliners falling 4.84% as Zain retreated 7.4%.

On the other hand, the consumer services and basic materials segments were the market’s only gainers adding 1.01% and 0.49%, respectively.

As for the market’s liquidity, the Premier Market acquired 53.3% of the total with KWD 4.94 million, while the Main Market’s trade volume represented 84.3% of the total with 58.95 million shares.

Kuwait Finance House’s (KFH) stock, which declined 0.58%, led the bourse in liquidity with KWD 1.23 million, while Manazel’s stock, which fell 1.18%, headed the market in terms of trading volume with 8.8 million shares.
