Boursa Kuwait ends Wednesday on mixed note

Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait ended Wednesday’s trades on a mixed note for a second consecutive day.

The benchmark index dropped 0.22% or 13.5 points to 6,196.5 points, while the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices rose 0.29% and 0.05%, respectively.

By the end of Wednesday’s session, six sectors went down, topped by the real estate sector which fell 0.6% after Aqar Real Estate Investments sank 12%.

The financial service sector slumped 0.12%, pushed by KMEFIC’s 14% decline.

Meanwhile, five sectors topped the market's gainers, encouraged by the telecommunication sector which edged up 1.5%. Ooredoo and AAN Digital Services Company added 6.4% and 3.5%, respectively.

The banking sector levelled up 0.51%, backed by Al Ahli United Bank's 4.5% hike.

Automated Systems Company topped the market's decliners dipping 14.7%, while Amar Finance and Leasing Company led the market's gainers surging 16.7%.

On Wednesday, Boursa Kuwait’s liquidity soared 137.3% to KWD 15.09 million from KWD 6.36 million on Tuesday, after the trading volume grew 47 % to 74.41 million shares from 36.97 million in the previous session.

Al Ahli United Bank posted the highest turnover of 21.21 million shares valued at KWD 4.34 million.
