Boursa Kuwait ends week in green

Mubasher: All indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Thursday’s session higher for the first time in a week; the price index added 0.46% or 29.24 points to 6,413.72 points.

Both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices went up 0.36% and 0.4%, respectively.

The industrial segment topped five gainers with 1.34%, backed by Nafais which rose by 11.1%.

Estate companies levelled up 1.11% in line with the 19.8% growth of Real Estate Asset Management.

Meanwhile, the oil and gas sectors retreated 1.53%, dragged by Napesco which lost 2.3%.

Palm Agro was the top winner with a rise of 20%, while Shuaiba Industrial led losers with 14.7%.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover increased by 11.8% to KWD 10.81 million on Thursday compared to KWD 9.67 million in the previous session after the trading volume grew by 36.1% to 58.01 million shares from 42.64 million.

Zain, which rose 3.81% to 436 fils, was the most active stock on which 8.79 million shares were traded at a value of KWD 3.74 million.

Today’s performance included active purchasing; this in return boosted expectations for great annual closing at Boursa Kuwait, Capital market analyst Mohamed Al Anzi told Mubasher.

Capital market Nawaf Al Oun said that Thursday’s session confirmed the high volume traded on the stock exchange.
